
The
"Dolphin Sanctuary" in the West Wing at Knossos - Evans
called this the "Queen's Room"
This
room takes its name from a Dolphin
Fresco which was found here in pieces on the floor. It probably
fell from the floor above during the destruction of the palace.
A replica of the fresco is now on the north wall as shown in this
image. A lustral basin adjoined the Dolphin Sanctuary. There were
many of these throughout the ruins, but the purpose is unknown.
