The
fragile ecosystem of the Tibetan plateau has suffered massive
environmental degradation since the Chinese invasion. Damage
to many of the watersheds in Asia which serve over 1 billion
people is one of the most serious problems. Others include deforestation,
soil erosion, and the dumping of nuclear waste.
